Using the Mills Test to diagnose tennis elbow

The purpose of Mill’s Test is to assess the patient for lateral epicondylalgia, or tennis elbow. It’s the most popular way of diagnosing the condition.

Technique

To perform Mill’s test, the therapies palpates the patient’s lateral eipcondyle with one hand, while pronating the patient’s forearm, fully flexing the wrist, and extending the elbow.[1]

The Mill’s test is considered positive when it reproduces pain in the lateral epicondyle.
